Every Day is the story of A, who wakes up in a new body every single morning. Boy or girl, near or far, there’s no way of knowing who or where it will be. A lives in the shoes of this person for 24 hours. Waking up to their parents, going to their school with their friends, hanging out with their girlfriend or boyfriend… As you can imagine, it would be hard not to get attached to these people, especially since A has never had any real friends or family.

One day, A wakes up as a teenage boy who has a beautiful girlfriend named Rhiannon. A has never felt that way about an other human being before. Knowing that the chances of waking up near Rhiannon is probably impossible, A makes sure to have the best, unforgettable day with her. A wakes up the following day in the body of an other stranger, longing for Rhiannon. They had fallen in love in just one day, but she has no idea.

It’s actually so hard not to give A a gender. I keep wanting to write he or she in this review, which brings me to the originality of this story. David Levithan truly is an amazing author for pulling off writing about a genderless character. Every Day is beautiful and portrays so many important, delicate themes in such a short young adult contemporary novel.

Everyone should read this once. It will really make you think differently. It could even go as far as changing the way that a person looks at the world. It is extremely unique and thought provoking.

I know that many of you probably have had this sitting on your shelf for a very long time like I did. I don’t know what I was waiting for, but i’m really glad to have finally picked this gem of a book up. I actually listened to Every Day as an audiobook as well as reading the hard cover copy. The audiobook really pulled me into the story and I highly recommend it. I rated this book 4 out of 5 stars!

10846780_10152837584945465_1444511147_nThe Twelve Days of Christmas is a readathon taking place on INSTAGRAM the 12th to the 23rd of december. The lovely hosts are listed on the picture if you would like to check them out.

I really like that this readathon is going to be twelve days long. It will be a great way to get a few extra books read before the new year (it’s going to be here before we know it!) Plus, I love BOOKSTAGRAM, so I am looking forward to taking some fun christmas book photos and sharing my updates with you on there. Since this is being hosted on Instagram, I won’t be doing daily blog readathon updates here, but you can check out our Instagram if you would like to know how I am doing.

This is what I plan on reading until the 23rd:
